Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Diagnostic Assessment

Clinique Médicale 360 - Ogilvy offers diagnostic assessment services for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for children and adolescents between the ages of 5 and 18.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is primarily characterized by difficulties in communication and social reciprocity, as well as the presence of restricted and repetitive behaviors and interests. Since ASD is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder, signs are present from early childhood. In many cases, the signs are obvious, such as significant developmental delays. However, in some less severe forms of ASD—formerly referred to as “Asperger’s Syndrome” or “high-functioning autism”—the manifestations are more subtle, which can lead to a late diagnosis or even no diagnosis at all.

At Clinique Médicale 360 – Ogilvy, we offer diagnostic assessment services for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for children and adolescents between the ages of 5 and 18. Our ASD assessments are designed for individuals who have fluent verbal language (i.e., who use full and complex sentences), either in French or English.
Please note that we currently do not offer ASD evaluations for non-verbal individuals or for children under five years of age.

What does the assessment involve?

The ASD diagnostic assessment is carried out by a qualified neuropsychologist using internationally recognized clinical tools, including:

  • ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised)
  • ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – 2nd Edition)

Our diagnostic process also includes an assessment of intellectual functioning, typically conducted using the Wechsler scale. Depending on the specific needs of the individual being assessed, additional psychometric tests or questionnaires may also be used to complete the evaluation.
